The Golden Spoon Contest 2016, What is new?
The fourth edition of the Golden Spoon contest has implemented changes to make the show more professional and create a game-show feel for the talented chefs. We have expanded the range of award denominations and products, and adjusted the time and space of the exams.
According to the organizing committee new regulations
include: each contest is increased to a 20-minute time limit. This allows chefs
more time to demonstrate creativity contestants and communicate with the media
about their job, passion, unique image and company. Chefs now have a total time
of 2 hours 20 minutes to prepare and complete all tasks (previously it was only
2 hours).
Contestants can also no longer prepare desserts in
advance, and must now complete them during the contest process.
Another change is the Golden Spoon 2016 which will be
organized at three different locations: Hanoi, Danang and HCM. This change will allow qualifying chefs from
different regions throughout the country to meet and exchange with one another,
thereby reinforcing the mission of understanding more about Vietnamese cuisine.
With this increase in contestants, the organizing committee takes this into
account when choosing locations. Spaces must be large enough to comfortably and
conveniently move around and display their dishes with the utmost quality.
Launching the Golden Spoon
Contest, 2015 for Southeast region in Ho Chi Minh City
Each round of the
fourth edition of the Golden Spoon Contest will be organized at big film
studios and a live model of a countryside market will be erected at the final
round. The organizing committee will also arrange more meeting and discussion
areas. This year the space will be within a professional media studio so as to
help reduce the noise and provide a more professional environment, especially
for the media.
Of note to the contestants, the value
of prizes in the preliminary and semi-final rounds will be adjusted higher than
previous years. The first prize of the preliminary round is VND 40 million and
the first prize of the semi-final is VND 50 million.
The Golden
Spoon Contest has the total value of prizes up to more than VND three billion
and will be co-organized by Minh Long I Limited Company and the Center of Business
Research and Enterprise Support. It is funded by Ly’s Horeca under sponsorship
of two national units: the Chamber of Commerce - Industry of Vietnam (VCCI) and
Vietnam national Administration of Tourism.
